In September 2020 HAWKE Transit System opens a warehouse at HEFKO GmbH in Hamburg. This will enable HAWKE customers in Germany to benefit from a faster service for shipping their required items. In January 2019 HEFKO GmbH became the official distributor of HAWKE Transit System in Germany. Now German customers can also obtain a selection of the most popular HAWKE products directly from Hamburg – such as marine transit frames (HMX), round transits frames (HRTO), sleeves or blocks.

In January 2019 HEFKO GmbH was appointed by HAWKE Transit System as its representative. HAWKE is manufacturer of packing systems for electric cables and pipes penetrating bulkheads, decks and walls in both Civil and Marine applications. The certified packing systems can be found in e.g. cargo and passenger vessels, navy vessels and offshore structures. They are a barrier against fire, water and gas as well as stray air bourn and cable screen signals/noise (EMC). In many markets worldwide HAWKE is successfully present. Now, also German customers are provided locally with competent service.

HEFKO delivered in January 2018 two AUVs from Teledyne Gavia to the Turkish Navy.

The 1000m rated Gavia AUVs will be utilized for Search and Recovery applications and will provide Turkish Navy with highly effective deep water, rapid response capability from a man portable AUV system.

The Gavia systems as delivered to the Turkish Navy are equipped with survey grade side scan sonar, cameras, and utilize a high accuracy Doppler Velocity Log aided Inertial Navigation System for subsea positioning.

In December 2015 HEFKO GmbH received the order from Turkish Navy for supply of four new propellers with a diameter of 1,85 m and a weight of 776 kg each. The propellers were manufactured by Otto Piening GmbH at Glückstadt, Germany. They are determined as spare parts for TUZLA class patrol boats (55,75 m length, 400 dwt, 2 x 2720 kw shaft power). The heavy parts were forwarded to Turkey by airfreight. HEFKO operated also this exceptional spare part order in time and to everyone’s satisfaction.

The patrol boat “Granitz” built in 1996 by Fr. Fassmer shipyard did not have a system for cooling of the rooms during the hot summer season. HEFKO by order of the police Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania replaced in February 2015 the existing air handling unit installed in the ceiling by a tailor made PLEXUS MAS 050-SI with cooing coil (direct expansion). A seawater cooled condensing unit with 14,4 kW cooling capacity also was installed. The existing air duct system was retroactively insulated. This resulted in a full integration of the cooling function without any structural alteration and with little efforts.

Hefko GmbH has participated in cooperation with Friedrich Marx GmbH & Co. KG this year at the SMM Hamburg Trade Fair (Shipbuilding, Machinery and Marine Technology) for the first time. Out of the PLEXUS program, a MAP compact air conditioner was exhibited and thereby shown to interested visitors.

The audience of industry professionals took a keen interest in the compact air conditioner, which has a cooling and heating power of about 7.3 kW. The quality workmanship, an extremely attractive purchase price, are only two of the strong arguments that convinced our visitors.

The suggestions and wishes of our customers have helped to launch our product catalogue in a new optimized form. A merger of HEFKO GmbH by absorption of HEFKO Products GmbH has taken place on 3rd September 2013.

HEFKO GmbH – Spare Parts offer a comprehensive service in procurement of spare parts and equipment. HEFKO Products GmbH with its outstanding know how provides a wide range of equipment and components for Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration systems for maritime applications.

Henceforth forces of both companies are conjoined in the “new” HEFKO GmbH with its two business fields Spare Parts and Products. The gained power and the increased efficiency inure to the benefit of our customers as well as our suppliers.

The merger doesn´t lead to any changes in the management or contact persons known by you. The merged HEFKO GmbH will be managed by Dr. Dieter Cohrs who has already been responsible for both separated companies.

The crews of six patrol boats of the of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerianian police since spring time 2013 can enjoy their service in conditioned atmosphere. HEFKO Products during the period February to May this year has made a refit of PLEXUS MAP-024 self contained air conditioners on patrol boats built in the nineties by Fassmer Werft and Bootserft Rechlin. The installation of the air conditioners comprised the cooling water system, air distribution system, condensate drainage system with connection to the grey water tank as well as electrical installation.

The AC-unit with 24.000 Btu/h cooling capacity in heat pump mode provides as well 24.000 Btu/h heating capacity. For the installation in an existing small storage compartment an opening of 325x550mm (LxH) was sufficient.
